Posted on behalf of Willow_Warren

Good day to you all…

I know it’s only early in the year but I’m talking about calendars already!!! There’s nothing like being prepared!!!

What I plan on organising is a Rabbit Union Calendar for 2008. But I will need input from you lot to get it on it’s feet!

THE PHOTOGRAPHS:
Well I’m a keen photographer so would like to use some of my own photographs as well as some from some photography pals I know – if that’s ok with you lot?

Also I would like some photos from members here – so get snapping!

THE MONEY
Well I’ll be selling calendars, but I will not be making any profit from them! As yet I haven’t contacted any rescues to benefit from the calendar, but will be doing so in the near future (and this will all be finalised before any calendars are sold – so no worries before you part with your money you will know where it will be going). If you run a rescue and would like to be involved please PM me (I could always come and take some photos of the bunnies for you ;-) )

THE CALENDARS
A4 Portrait (just like this one, but of course with rabbit photos):
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r114/Hannah77_photos/Calendar/Calendar002b.jpg
Selling at about £8-9 (with £3-4 going to charity) - final figures will be published at a later date.

And CD calendar:
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r114/Hannah77_photos/Calendar/Calendar001b.jpg
About £5-6 (with £2-3 going to charity) – final figures will be published at a later date.

Sorry about the quality of the photos but I took them on the desk at my work.

WHAT TO DO NOW?
Well I just want to know what all you guys think about the idea? Like it?

Charge the batteries and get taking photos – I know you all do anyhow!

Many Thanks

Hannah (Willow_Warren)[/quote]

I'm just giving this a personal little bumpty bump!! I am looking for photos so if you have any you would like to be considered just pm or email me (email address is available through my web site).

I've still got to get around to contacting some rescues I've just been busy with my new job (not so easy to surf whilst at work these days!!).

Thanks

H

I thought I would take the time to update you on the progress of the calendar:

I have 2 rescues on board with this:

Honeybunnies in Leicestershire &
The Rabbit Residence in Hertfordshire

I've asked a third rescue and am awaiting confirmation from them.

Whilst I plan for half the photos to come from the rescue themselves I would like some of the photos to come from you guys as well (esp if you have adopted from one of the above rescues). If you would like you photo to be considered for the calendar then please email it to me at:
hannah@ford-photography.co.uk (putting RU Calendar in the title).

Landscape format it best & the larger the file size the better.

There is no rush for photos just yet, it's only June - I don't plan on finalising the calendar until October time so you have at least until the end of September to submit your photos.

(in emailing it to me you are allowing me to use the photo in the calendars as detailed above, where full credit will be given & I may post them on this forum in relation to the caledar only - however I will not use them for any other purpose).

Many thanks

Hannah

Are you planning on one picture per page, Willow_Warren?

Neil

Yes one pic per page/month, then a montage for the front cover.

Once the calendar in finalised the calendar I may offer the option of some of the photos being swaped for photos of your own bunnies (should they not make the calendar) for a small extra fee - all of which will go into the charity fund.

Regards

Just thought I would give an update on the calendarand perhaps an idea of what it may look like!

These arent necessarily the final photos that will be used, and I havent got permission for a few of them yet!

JANUARY
This is Honey, another honeybunny, was being fostered by Doncat5 when this photo was originally posted, not sure if shes still there now? Oh I have permission to use this one :D

MARCH
This is a HoneyBunny called Autumn Im sure most people have seen here in the rabbits in need section. Not asked Jill if I can use this photo yet ;)

It's a really good idea! Are you planning to 'theme' the photos for the months? Like a bunny with daffodils in march etc?

It's a really good idea! Are you planning to 'theme' the photos for the months? Like a bunny with daffodils in march etc?

That really depends on what photos I have available? If there are some that obviously "go" with a certain month then I will put them there, otherwise it will be 12 random pics (all cute of course!!)

I like the idea of paying an extra fee to have a photo of our own bunnies being substituted if they don't make the calendar :thumb:

I'm not sure if I'll have any photos good enough, but I'll get snapping :)

Ideas for pics for the budding photographers,

January/Feb- Bunny with a scarf- someone posted one of these recently and it was so good. Bunny in the snow

Spring time- daffodils, easter bunnies, bunny with easter egg- yes you can get bunny easter eggs, bunny and umbrella for April

Summer- Bunny sunbathing, sat on a sun lounger, pinching a drink

Autumn- The pumpkin one is good, bunny sat amongst straw to depict harvest time

December- bonded pair grooming with mistletoe above, bunny opening presents (i've seen one of these somewhere). Bunny sat in a santa hat.

Just some ideas that sprung to mind

Hi, umm i dont know if this is the right place to post this, but my little peter passed away thursday and i found out yesterday. (she was my bunnies baby, and dominos sis) and she lived at my mums work. if you look on the rainbow bridge post there are some lovely photos for her, perfect for a calendar, would mean alot if she could perhaps be a part of it. She helped people with disabilities, anyway the photos are under 'goodbye little peter'. I especially like the one of her 3 weeks old in the daisys and 3 weeks old in a basket...maybe good for easter?

They are lovely photos, I would be proud for one of them to go into the calandar. There will be a little space on each page for a desription of the bunny or bunnies photographed so he can be mentioned.

Both the photos you mention are lovely as it the one third from bottom. I'm sure the basket one will be ideal and one of a kind :D I'm sorry to hear that he passed away.

well he is actually a she!lol! when she was two weeks old i took a photo and she looked like peter rabbit and when she was 7 weeks we found out she was a girl....and nothing else could stick! no matter what we called her she was always going to be little peter! i think the basket one is nice for easter, but then i like the one of her in the daisys! whichever you think. Thank you, it would be such a lovely way to remember her.

Thanks to everybody who has emailed me photographs. I've decided to set the deadline for photographs to the 30th September - that gives you another month to keep snapping!

The calendars will then be available for sale from the middle of October! Where I will publist full details of pricing and ordering.

If anyone has sent of pm'd me small images and I've asked for larger versions can you please... please... forward them to me. It's doesn't matter how large the file is, the bigger the photo the better the quality will be :D

Thanks again for all the interest you have shown :D

I can't choose at the minute which one would be best for the calendar  she was such a little darling, so sad for the loss.

If you could email them a little larger then that would be great as they are going to be about 8" x 5.24" once on the calendar! You could either send me both, or just the one you would prefer me to use - will leave that decision up to you.

Thanks

Do you have any idea how much they are going to be yet?

On the first page I said that they would be about 8-9 - for the A4 calendar, but I can't remember now if that included postage or not :? but it will be in that region! Hope it's not too much? I will be publishing the full costs once I have completed the design (still so much to do!).

Also there will be the option of changing one (or more) of the photos for a photo of your own rabbit(s).

Also I will be able to add personalised dates.

Both of these option will be at an additional cost (and may take a little longer to deliver).

I hope everybody is happy ?

3 to 4 pounds from each A4 calendar will be going to the rescues, split evenly. I need to double check my calculations for the final prices etc. Any additional price you pay for your own photo or personalised dates will all go to the rescues.

I will comfirm the final prices in the next month or so!

Thanks

That would be brilliant- so could we for example have the dates added of when our buns are due for their jabs and when their birthday is

I might get one for my auntie/cousin and take a photo of their bunny 'Honey' when they aren't looking and have her put in- they'd love it

You can have what ever dates you like put on the calendar, you can even have that day hightlighted in a colour if you like (there will be a limited number of colours), but there will be a fee for each date added XXp (as I have to manually enter these before printing), so if you go mad it will add up!

e.g.

Event Date Day Shading
Barley's Birthday 12th February Blue
Dolly's "Gottcha Day" 25th September Pink

On the main template the bank holidays and weekends are shaded (a kind of grey), other significant date (e.g. Valentines Day) are detailed but not shaded.

I'm going to have to sort out some kind of order form for comiplicated things like this!

Thanks

That's great! Don't forget to keep your camera on the high quality setting and keep the original photos!

I have said that I will post to anywhere but the postage costs will be greater than to the UK (also you may have UK bank holidays etc on it!).

Not long now until the release date!!!

So far I have stocked up enough supplies for 22 A4 calendars and 11 CD calendars! Which would mean just over 100 profits by some rough calculations! Of course the more that sell the more that is raised! :D

As for costs I will finalise them when they become available for sale, so don't worry too much, I just need to dot the "i's" and cross the "t's" in that area! But will be betwen 7-8 + P&P.
