Yet another bun not right * UPDATE. on the mend

Sue&Sooty

Wise Old Thumper
Just been out to give the buns their supper and shut them in the hutch and Holly is not right :( she let me pick her up and cuddle her which she NEVER lets me do. She didn't dive into the food bowl either :? will go and check on her again in about an hour armed with Infacol incase she's still not right

She was fine at 5.30 when I went out to say hello :( :(

Question is do I bring her indoors for the night if she's no better or leave her with her family? Will there be a problem putting her back in with the others if I do?

Awww poor Holly :(

I don't really have any advice just want to say we are sending healing vibes xxxxxx

Oh gawd Sue :(

Have you checked her 'under-carriage' for signs of squidgey poo/wetness?
I'd give her 2ml of Infacol NOW anyway plus some very gentle tummy rubs. Then check on her again in an hour.
If she is still 'not right' I'd bring her AND Sooty in. That way she will have company and re-introducing 2x2 might not be as fraught as 1x3.

Some cooled boiled water (camomille tea if you have any) is something else you could give Holly. Please keep us posted as to how she is.

Janex

Thanks Jane

I'll go and give her some infacol now.

Have checked her all over and she is clean and there isn't any squidgy poo anywhere in the hutch. :? She does feel a bit cold though.. it has been colder here today though.

Will bring them both in if she's not better in an hour

They didn't have any pellets last night cos I'd forgotten to get some  but they have loads of hay and they all tucked into their greens this morning :? Knowing the type of bun Holly is, she's just punishing me for not giving her pellets last night! A bit like "I wanted them last night not tonite"

Right Infacol and tummy rub given :thumb:

She put up a bit more of a fight this time so maybe the tummy rub I gave her before helped!

I'll see how she is in an hour and then I'll decide wether to bring her and Soot in for the night

She's a bit more fiesty when I tried to pick her up but still not herself :( Her ears feel cold :? but then could that be cos it's quite cold out tonite :?

Any more advice anyone?

I posted something v v similar over the weekend. Please take her to the vets in the morning. I took baby this morning and the vet thought it was probably gat stasis. She was given pain relief and something to get the gut working. She seems abit brighter but still not herself. You seem to be doing everything right. Whether you bring her in or not is a toughie as she may be just as warm surrounded by other buns. If you do bring her in I agree with Jane and bring another bunny too.

Get her to the vets tomorrow if you can.

Well I've brought Holly and Sooty in :? It's the first time they have been seperated from the other two ever! Hopefully she will be ok :( and they can all be back together in the morning.

If she's no better in the morning then yes she'll be off to the vets :? She is drinking now and was almost tempted by a dandilion leaf.

Thanks everyone. :D
She seems a bit better this morning, I even saw her munching on a bit of hay just now! :D She still isn't interested in anything else to eat but then I guess hay is better for her anyway! She's moving about a bit more this morning. Sooty, bless him, sat snuggled with her last night so he kept her nice and warm.

I'll keep an eye on her through the day and if she's still not right later I'll take her to the vet.

Thank God for Infacol I say! :D
