  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

eculi-culi

About 4 weeks for Renal symptoms, 8 weeks for neurological ones.
Some infected Buns never show any clinical symptoms at all but become asymptomatic carriers.

Sounds like you have caught my 'anxiety about the Bunnies' bug!!
I'm in a tizz about Lord Lopsley at the mo'......

awww hope Lord Lopsley will be OK. I do think you're right about the " anxiety about bunnies," bug though
I keep thinking back to when Freeda was here ( 3 years ago) I'm more than sure she had e-culiculi and could have passed it to Bilbo, though he had no symptoms but he could have passed it to Gypsy :? but she has shown no symptoms.
Also my stupid vet refused to perscribe panacar after I explained about Nomad being possitive for eculiculi saying " there's nothing to worry about, they should be fine!," :?
Maybe my buns have been lucky and missed becoming infected

You dont need a prescription for panacur, its not a POM. You can buy it here http://www.wormers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Dog___Cat_Wormers_16.html You want the puppy/kitten 10% solution at a dose of 0.2ml/kg daily for 28 days ;)
