  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

After my topic reagrding when to sperate the babies and watching them play together we decided to put Buster (boy) in a hutch by himself. Needless to say he was utterly miserable alone. He could still see mum and his sister and had a cuddly toy too

Im very confused about what to do. I really thought that i wouldnt want to keep them (Strange i know) but i do. Im so worried about what might happen to them all. Do you all think it would be ok to keep Amber (mum) with Mikey as she would be the one least likely to find a new home as she is so nervous. Would she be more likely to be friendly with a boyfriend ?

I may have found a home for Buster (fingers crossed) My mums friend might have him. And then we just need to find a home for little Roo
Unfortunately im not in a position to keep them all.

Awwww mikey! Is your bun neutered? if so i would defo put mum in with him it may bring her out of her shell a bit.

Yes Mikey is netured. As she is a nervous bun do you think it may be stressful for her to be bonded with Mikey ?
Im just so want them all to have loving homes.

Thanks
Lindsey

I wouldn't think it would be to stressful for her probably more for you. One of my buns Holly, had the skin ripped off her neck when she was a baby and hated other rabbits with a passion! i paired her up with another of my nervous buns and they got on great so i then put them in with Toffee (neutered male) and pan ( spayed female) and now they could'nt be happier buns Holly does'nt run away from me anymore when i walk past her!!! and i had them eating there tea out of my hand last night!!! So it can work brilliently! It is just a bit stressful on you but if you stay calm whilst bonding them then the buns usually stay calm too!!

When Buster is Rehomed we have a spare cage for Roo so she could stay for a while. But is was never a long term plan to keep them all - just to try and find them all good homes.
