Young Bun
Hi there...
I have a problem which is driving me slowly nuts! My female, Oreoelle who gave birth dec 1st, "somehow" pees outside of her cage! She WAS litter box trained but when had to put the nest box in her cage we had to remove the litter box because there was no room for her to move.
When the babies were still to young and in the nest box she would just simply pee in a corner. Since the babies have gotten bigger and are out of the nest box..she somehow back her backside up against the cage and pees OUTSIDE the cage!
We tried putting the litter box back into the cage and the little ones think the litter box is there for them to eat! My daughter is afraid the babies will become constipated from eating the pine so she removed it.
We got another cage, during the day time Oreoelle is in that cage by herself so she can have some "R&R". We put the litter box in the cage and she still refuses to use it but atleast pee's and poo's INSIDE the cage.
Any suggestions on what to do and why she is doing this???
I am thankful that my daughters room ( where the bunny cages are kept) is all tile and not carpet! As we all know bunny pee is one of the most horrible smelling things! But there are many mornings I open her door and almost pass out from the fumes! Everyday we break apart the cage and clean all the pee off of the bars, drop pan and the floor so there isnt any smell....but she continues!
Please help!!
Thanks!
Nicole
