Young Bun
Raisin is currently having regular denials, until recently as regularly as fort nightly. We were referred to Seers Croft in Horsham to see Rob, who has been fantastic. She has now been put on a hay only diet and has been put on metacam long term. This time she managed to go a month without needing them doing, definitely a move in the right direction.
Before we made the decision to keep her on the metacam long term, we had gradually tried to take her off it. We began this three weeks after her dental after seeing she had made good progress at grinding her teeth down after being on the hay only diet,. A couple of days after stopping the metacam completely she began not wanting to eat as much. My normal vet and Rob both suggested we put her back on the pain killer and monitor her closely to see if she picked up. This did seem to help and she was picking at food but still not herself.
I decided on Wednesday to have her teeth done as on the Tuesday night she had not wanted to eat at all. So fast forward to today, her teeth have been done but she has still not picked back up. Usually after a dental she is back to her normal self in a couple of days.
She is currently on 1ml metacam twice daily, 0.3ml cisapride three times a day. I have also been giving her 2mls infacol three times daily. I am syringing 20 ml critical care and 30ml water every 2-3 hours and doing this through the night also. Her stomach is very loud and gurgly so i have been massaging that for her. In herself she goes between sitting very quietly to seeming very restless and digging up bedding and not seeming to be able to get comfortable. She sometimes picks at hay in the afternoon but then gradually stops through the day. She is still pooing but only a small amount and they are small and mishapen, one was also three poos in a little chain.
We are back off to the vets this morning and I am just wondering what else I should be asking or doing? I'm getting increasingly worried about her and at a lose as to what I should be doing or if I'm doing the right thing at all?
Thank you so much if you have read this far! Just want my bunny back!
