Anyone got one of these rabbit runs

It's a good size at around 7.9 x 3.8ft and around 2.5ft tall, however the quality of the trixie products isn't great in terms of longevity. The wood is poor quality (compared to solid timber) and the bar spacing on that one is not sufficient - any predator could get their paw in and hurt your bunny. It's also fairly overpriced for the materials it's made of. I would recommend going for a good quality timber run. If the solid roof is a major selling point for you I'm sure many manufacturers would be able to partially cover the roof.

Here are some links:

Boyles Housing (who are active on this forum) have some which come with the option for a felt or timber roof so that'd be easy: http://www.boylespethousing.co.uk/rabbit-housing/rabbit-runs/rabbit-run-and-guinea-pig-run.html and they do 3ft high runs too: http://www.boylespethousing.co.uk/rabbit-housing/rabbit-runs/rabbit-run-3ft-high.html

Welfare hutches do 2ft high runs: http://www.welfarehutches.co.uk/category/2ft high runs, and also 3ft high: http://www.welfarehutches.co.uk/3ft_high_runs/cat1466126_1727923.aspx

Alternatively you could try this - http://www.runaround.co.uk/collections/mesh-runs-binky-boxes/products/8x4 . If I've got the conversion to metric right it's larger than the run you've linked to but about the same price. I've got one myself and it's really useful as with the way it's made I can also use the sections it's made of not only as a run but also disassemble it and use as puppy panels to block a section of my garden off for free ranging.

Obviously you'd still need a shelter and a run cover but a second hand hutch and a large piece of plastic tablecloth would sort that.

(Btw I'm a very big fan of Runaround, just wish I could fit more of it into my garden )

Thanks for the replies. There's plenty to think about and consider isn't there! I shall consider all the options before deciding which one is best for Mr Higgins. Thanks again.
