parsnipbun
Wise Old Thumper
Just a small part of the willow we have !!!! This only shows about a hundredth of the branches and large bits - mostly just the small bits show up on the photo
Today we have had very large weeping willow very heavily 'pruned' (taking about 20 foot off it!).
We have a whole garden full of twigs with young leaves and buds on, thick sticks, branches and even bits of trunk - all of these very very edible and nommy for rabbits.
Anyone is very welcome to contact me and drive up and stuff their car full - and thus not only make themselves a favourite withtheir buns but also save themselves loads of money on willow treats etc
Rescues are very very welcome to take as much as they want - hire a van and come!he leaves and buds will stay fine for a week or so, or can be dried slowly outdoors or in a garage (with no fumes) or room or shed or polytunnel;
the sticks and branches etc can just be kept as they are for months on end . The ones you buy in shops have probably been cut descues are very very welcome to take as much as they want - hire a van and come!
Sorry I cannot send stuff at present , I am rushed off my feet with work and trying to get the new house in order, and have lots of builders/plumbers/septic tank men/oil men/ etc etc to organise, and have also taken on a special needs bun and am hand raising a hare and one of our oldies has just 'lost' her back legs . . . . I literally have no time to package stuff up and go to post office.
Anyone thinking of coming just PM me and I will give you my mobile no. and address. We are now about 8 miles south west of Peterborough, just off A1, on Northants/Cambs border.
PLEASE come and take some!!!!!!
PS branches and trunk parts also ideal for environmental enrichment - just leave them in runs etc
