Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Mark on nose..

Azucena

Alpha Buck
This mark has been there since I got him (3 months ago). It wasn't commented on when he went in for his neuter or vaccinations.. I was just wondering what it might be? It is just his pigmentation?

mine had that too:? one of mine is due to her nose always being damp but the other, bluebell-well its just there...:?

Looks like some skin discolouration, perhaps a bit of scar tissue? Perhaps bun rubbed nose on bars or something too much at one point and it scabbed and scarred without you noticing?

Could just be a bit of pigmentation and the fact he's had it all his life would suggest something perhaps from when he was a baby.

If you shaved him then his skin would look black (where his dark fur is) and pink (where his white fur is). If he grew fur in that place it would be black. It just looks like pigmentation to me, that's all. I have a few with this too :)

Sorry I should have mentioned he was about 18 months old when I got him, therefore don't know if he's had it all his life. He used to live in hutch with his previous owner, so I guess either of your suggestions is a possibility! Thanks. :D

Thank you! Glad it seems to be nothing to worry about. :D

I would have thought the vet would have mentioned it to you if there was a concern.....!!

All the best
