Thorwing hay everywhere

foxy2279

Alpha Buck
I have two bonded males Buster and Brownie. Their coming up for six months old. Both are neutured.

In the last few days Brownie has started throwing the hay out of the litter tray and hay rack.

I went out this morning and he has removed all the hay from both. It's currently all over the run in front of their hutch. Brownie is already a bad hay eater prefers pellets so have started reducing them down (was having 50g between them now down to 40g). He also a bit of a piggy and eats really fast, so eats the most pellets. Brownie prefers grass to hay (correction anything green). Buster loves hay, he would quite happily sit eating it all day and was sat looking at it all with a sad look on his face.

They have hay in their bed, litter tray and hay rack.

Does anyone have ideas how to stop this? Is he just being a stroppy boy?

looking for more nuggets? needs something interesting to do? might need a lot of throwing toys, like balls and sticks. rabbits love to throw things and move them.

Found out what the issue is.

The litter tray is not deep enough for him. Just been out to see them and he's chucking hay around were he's trying to borrow into it. Then getting fustrated when its not going down deep enough and pulling more hay down to make it comfortable.

Off to find a bigger storage box for him. So can get more hay in there for him :D.
