I have a shih-tzu cross. My bunnies are not in the least afraid of her, in fact they go up to the bars to sniff her when she gets close to the cage. I don't know what the dog would do if the bunnies got loose, but as they're going to be house bunnies, at some point there's probably going to be an incident in which the dog gets a little too close to the bunnies, especially with three kids in the house.
To be honest, most of me screams don't EVER let the dog near the bunnies.. not that I think she'd do them any harm, she's more scared of them than they are of her, but she is a dog after all. Nevertheless, a little part of me wonders if I should introduce them under controlled circumstances, and make sure the dog knows it's not OK to chase the bunnies, so that the first meeting will be controlled and as "safe" as possible, rather than me chasing after her screaming!
Advice/opinions anybody?
