urgent help

guys yuki has a slight head tilt and her eyes are flikering backwards and forwards I am terrorfied as I phoned the vets and the only rabbit savvy person at my vets isnt in today.... they man vet didnt know what he was talking about

I said it could be ec I dont know how to spell it.... and he said he dsnt know what that is....

I am in tears!

i need to find a rabbit savy vet in manchester that will take her in for an emergency appointment they wanted to leave her until 5pm!!!!

I don't know any vets in Manchester i'm afraid. Have you rang around? Try ringing a few vets and asking for anybody who specialises in rabbits or small animals and ask to chat to them.

Take some deep breaths. Don't panic because she will sense it.

Go to the vets today, get some pain relief, get her seen.

Then go back tomorrow and get some effective antibiotics (lots of debate as to what works but a variety of us have found a variety of things, just something better tha Baytril or Septrin normally).

If you want Panacur, get some of that too.

Also, Stemetil can help with the dizziness (which is what the nystagmus is showing you she is experiencing).

I've found, with my head tilt buns (especially those with nystagmus) that holding them firmly sideways in a bunny stading up positive works best for them because its less disorientating. If you can get someone to go with you, that would be ideal. If not, bank up the carry case side so she can't move much but be ready that she will be very disorientated by the time the journey ends.

I couldn't quite make out what you described over the phone, but this sounds the same as last time which was an ear infection if I remember correctly, which we got sorted. Go to the vets, keep me updated and try to keep calm, we'll worry about Toko when this is all dealt with. Love you, see you as soon as I'm done at work.

The vet doesn't know what's wrong, tests have been done but we won't have the results back until Friday, when we were meant to be camping but now we'll have to stay home for those. Sorry I can't say more, we'll let you know when we do.

Did they swab the lower ear?

I look forward to hearing an update on medication and what tests have been run, etc.

hey guys

they did a test for ec, we dont know if its an ear infection, inner ear infection something to do with the mouth etc....

she was give a 2-3 day antibiotics injection, metacam and panicure

I dont give her the antibiotics for a few days but the others I have to give her daily.

the results of the ec blood tests will come back kate thursday/friday.....

we wont really know anything until then because if its not ec then they test for other things etc...

we were supposed to be going to a camping event thursday I have been looking forward to it all year and with how isolated I have been in manchester away from all our friends.... we obviously cant go now because my parents cant look after her in this state.....and if she needs bringing in on thursday/friday........... this is killing me.... i have looked forward to it for a year and I am left feeling guilty because I am upset because I cant go I shouldnt care that I cant go and should just want her healthy which I really do and I am in tears with worry that shes going to have something serious and die...I dont know how to feel about anything at the moment I am sitting home alone in tears......

I am so worried shes going to die or have something serious... I dont know what it means for her if she does have ec... is it a death sentence? and it means yuri will have it too.......

what other things could it be if it isnt the ear infections or mouth are they a death sentence.....

if it is ear infections or something to do with the mouth will she be ok with that?

I have no idea....

I cant take all of this anymore................

now a "friend" is on fb saying his friends are letting him down by not coming to the event shortly after he was told me and my oh probably coudlnt come now

wtf! I am in a state I need friends right now and they do that..........

I feel sick.........
