  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

It's okay - resolved. Please ignore

missed this, sorry.
Hope everything's ok? X

Sorry :oops: Erin was in stasis and I was at a very low ebb last night as had been up with her Monday night. Had to use local vets as H-B's don't do emergency cover on Mondays.

Basically as she eating well but no poo I took her back to local vets fror more metaclopromide but they said the metacam jab she had at 12.30 am would cover her for 24 hours, I thought it would only last 12 hours. I was wondering if okay to give her some when I posted. By the time I deleted Elijah also had belly ache and was refusing food - I was so tired I wasn't safe to drive so I was just feeling really rubbish when I deleted the post.:cry::cry:

Sorry guys, I know I've got people worried, thank you for the kind PMs :love::love:

Elijah is eating every thing in sight and racing around.

Erin is bright and munching hay, quite a few poops over night, not eating everything but 'on the mend'.

glad they're both doing ok now:)

i had to disappear early again last night with a lemsip - pretty similar to what i'm going to do now:roll:

Hope you're OK now. Glad both buns are feeling a little better this morning. Sending lots of vibes for a complete recovery xx

Thanks for good wishes everybody. I had provisionally booked Erin for a dental on Friday with FHB but she is now eating for England - she ate everthing she was given last night including pellets, and is eating loads of hay as per normal. It's looking like the spur the vet found possibly wasn't the cause of the stasis.

I'm watching her closely today/tonight and not giving any metacam, in case that is the reason she's now eating, and if I'm at all concerned she will be reviewed tomorrow and dental if deemed necessary, but for the moment I'm hopeful it won't be needed :D:D

Thanks so much for the support :love:
