  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Met a lady in the vets last night

While i was waiting to go in with Lexi, i managed to tell her all about rabbit rescues e.t.c

She has 2 bunnys from PAH last year, 1 died 2 weeks ago unexpectally and she brought the other one in last night, she said he keeps falling over and rolling, head is tilted.

The vet gave her Panacur wormer and she is meant to be coming back in today if the rabbit is still alive (the vets words)

she was quite upset really and said the vet wasn't very helpful. Which i completly understand, she isn't the most helpful vet!! I never take the rabbits to her, i see a exoctic specialist vet with them.

So i advised her to book to see the exotic specialist vet instead today, which she has done.

What do you think then? Think he will survive? poor bunny

Many bunnies can live with head tilt so it depends if the treatment has any affect and how severe the problems are after treatment. At least now the bun will get proper care.

when my bunny did that it was an ear infection thankfully with meds an painkillers and a lot of care at home she was ok

but it is very very scary to see your bun falling over head drooping like that and when they move doing rolly pollys.....
