  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Ceal poops

I am not sure if I need to worry or not, Jims very very rarely leaves any of his edible poops, he gobbles them up just as he is supposed to from his bum.
However, today I found a nice big cluster that he had left, I offered it to him and it took a bit of persuasion but he did eat it.
He also has quite cold ears :? Other than that he is himself, eating and pooping etc.

He may be due a Dental check. Leaving cecals can be the first sign of molar spurs.
It may just be a 'one off' though so just see if it happens again and if it does I'd get him booked in to the Vet for a Dental examination.

He last had his dental on the 1st April, we are due to go to the vets on the 1st June for dental and Myxi jab and general check up. Do you think we should go before this or wait and see?

I'd see how he goes. If he continues to leave his cecals or if his other poos get small then I'd get the appointment moved forward.
