  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Got home from work, rattled the food tub and no response, Lavender was sat waiting straight away!
Put food infront of him and he walked away, tried some sping greens but he didn't touch them, this is very unusual.
Rang vet and got an appointment straight away, he felt around and took his temperature etc and said he's in stasis.. Has given him an injection and we are just waiting for him to eat now!!

I do hope this works, I have read many stories about this and am worried!!

We got back from vets about 45 mins ago not eaten, drank, pooed or anything yet...

He didn't give him anything else. He's pretty alert and now ripping his cardboard house apart but just won't eat.

Thanks, got a syringe so am trying that.. Will be sleeping on the sofa tonight to make sure he keeps up with eating drinking etc

he should really have had pain relief. may be worth going and getting some incase he takes a turn for the worse during the night. hopefully he won't, but at least it would be there should he need it. :)
