  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Pebbles is refusing to eat his pellets which is totally not him, at the minute he is sitting in the corner of the hutch and isn't really interested in anything, this is really out of character as he is normally then one at the front trying to come out.

He has had a drink of water and eaten about an inch of carrot. What should I do? do you think he needs to see a vet now?

please help.

Vic, I would see a vet asap sounds like Pebbles could be in stasis.

Let us know how he gets on.

Yes hun, I would get him to a vet this afternoon, before he gets worse. I hope he feels better soon xx

no, he is outside in a shed, I have took him his snugglesafe down to keep him warm and I have given him some more blankets.

I'll call the vet now.

Hope he's okay, it's really worrying when it's so out of character. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Nothing to add from what the others have said but it's definitely worth getting them seen straight away, from my experience, especially for one so keen on his food normally.

Sending vibes from us lot especially his Aunty Tinks

Pebbles has been to see the vet, she has given him a gut stimulating injection and we have some metacam.

He has had a good drink since coming back and is now in the front room with his girls, I brought them in as well as he has never spent a night without another bunny. He has eaten a few pellets although not many, hopefully he will pick up soon.

Thanks for all your help earlier.

Pebbles is back to his old self now, causing trouble as usual. He is back outside as there was no way we can keep he indoors all over winter.
