Tooth Snapped

Hello

My bunny Bailey is a year old. Recently we noticed his teeth weren't sitting straight so he has been to the vets to get the clipped. This was 8 weeks ago. We have been keeping an eye on them as they seemed to be growing in squint again.

Today we have noticed that one of his front top teeth has gone!! It looks like it has snapped off.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before? He doesn't seem to be in pain and is still eating. We will take him to the vets tomorrow.

I hope he hasn't swallowed it.

Yes, Gregory's tooth snapped off when it first became overgrown. I was worried but the vet said it was fine. After a recent full dental exam under ga we found another at the back has disappeared but again, nothing to worry about. The teeth continue to grow and Gregory's front lower incisor needs burring down every 3-4 weeks.

Just noticed you mentioned clipping - apparently this is no longer advised and they should be burred instead as clipping the teeth can lead to them splitting which can lead on to other problems!

Hope that helps!

This has just happened to one of mine. We are monitoring it at the moment to see if it grows back and how.

Thanks for the comments guys

The vet didn't seem too concerned with it, more concerned with his other tooth which was overgrown.

She has recommended we get his front teeth taken out as they keep growing in squint and are needing burred every couple of weeks.

I'm not too sure about this. Will he still be able to eat as normal?

Does anyone have any experience of this?
