Walnut
*Age- 1
*Breed- Lionhead
*Marking- Blue flecked (unsure of real name)
*Sex- Male
*Vaccinated- Yes
*Neutered- Yes
*Arrived- July 2010
Walnut is a very small, blue flecked lionhead (roughly 1.3kg). He was abandoned at the gates of the Centre in July 2010 (at about 6-8 weeks old- so is currently 7-8 months old) with his 5 brothers and 1 sister.
He has been in foster care since November after struggling to thrive, but is now absolutely healthy (to the best of our knowledge) and ready for a home.
He is totally cheeky and likes to explore any area around, especially those he knows he shouldn't. He is also a jumper so explores anything that is upwards. Walnut loves hay and gets very excited for his pellets. He's also a total binky machine and when he gets the chance to enjoy a larger space, he goes loopy, having the time of his life.
Walnut does have two siblings who have dental issues so is going to need a very strict diet. He is also going to need some help with his grooming, although now he is healthier and bigger he manages the most of his grooming himself.
Walnut needs a home with a vigilant owner so that if he gets tooth issues they will be identified quickly. He also needs to go to a home where he can have a spayed, female rabbit to bond with and to live his days with.
For more specific information please don't hesitate to contact his foster carer Tracy on therabbitlady@googlemail.com or 07706076097
To adopt from RSPCA Martlesham, you will first need to come and meet the bunny/ies you are interested in. You will be asked to fill in the appropriate forms. We will then arrange a time when our home visitor can meet with you for a chat, and to make sure that your accommodation meets our requirements. You will also be provided with a free Rabbit Information Pack. If you want to adopt a single rabbit to bond with a lonely rabbit of your own, then after the home visit you will be asked to bring your rabbit (provided s/he is fully vaccinated and neutered/spayed) to the Centre to ‘date’ the rabbit you wish to adopt.
The Centre is open:
Monday- 11.30-3.30
Tuesday- 11.30-3.30
Wednesday- Closed all day
Thursday- 11.30-3.30
Friday- 11.30-3.30
Saturday- 11.30-3.30
Sunday- 1.30-3.30 (available by appointment only).
Please note that whilst you may express an interest in a rabbit, we can only reserve rabbits after the home check has been carried out.
Other information:
• All rabbits adopted from us are spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated (against both Myxomatosis and VHD) whilst in our care.
• We ask for 50sq ft of permanent access space for a pair of rabbits.
• You can find out more about the home visit at the bottom of the following link http://flashsplace.webs.com/rspcavolunteering.htm
Disclaimer: All the information displayed on this page is up to date at the time of uploading. We try to keep everything as up to date as possible, however, there is always the possibility that the situation has changed (for example, if a rabbit has died, or divorced, or been bonded, or adopted), so please feel free to visit our Centre to see exactly what we have at the time you are looking to adopt.
