  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Accident: Update 24th October

Just checking in to see if there's any news, MM. I hope your little one is doing better. You have not left my thoughts. xxxxxxx

Thank you everyone xx

He's been having the best care possible as I couldn't be around for a few hours today.

Sadly no improvement and I still have a 'catatonic' rabbit who is unresponsive.

I am still hopeful :) I believe in miracles and I intend to make one happen, I really do xx

I'm so sorry to hear there's been no improvement. But where there's still fight there's still hope, don't give up on him.
Been thinking about you both all day. I know you must be going through a nightmare right now, I just wish there was something I could do to help :(

Don't give up, little one, keep fighting xx

He is so incredibly lucky to have such a kind and caring owner who isn't going to give up on him.

I'm sending you all my love and him all my get well soon vibes. Daphne & Phoebe are sending some nose nudges and I'm sure they'd be happy to cuddle up to him too x

Hope that there's some improvement. Been thinking of you, as always. Lots of love and vibes from me and all the Wayward Buns. xxx

Sorry to have missed this MM, its like I've forgotten my daily routine of places I check on the internet since our TalkTalk caused hiatus! hope your bunny is ok xxx

Oh MM I’m so sorry and sad this has happened to you and your little bun.

You are such a lifeline around here helping us with our rabbits, I wish there was something we could do in your time of need. It sounds like he’s really hanging in there and I’m sure he can feel your love willing him on. I hope all our combined love and good thoughts are also heard and help him get better.

I can’t imagine what you are going through but I really hope you will have good news soon. We are all thinking of you and your little one :-( xx

This so kind of you to say so, and I'm grateful for everyone's support on this.

His vet is now 'in touch' with two specialist vets who are working together to find out what's going on and why he isn't recovering. It's a tricky one, as they don't want to do invasive diagnostics as it may make matters worse.

It's absolutely exhausting, as you know looking after a poorly bunny. Brings you to a low ebb. I am hoping we can survive another few days and get him out of the woods.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart xx

Aw bless him. I’m really full of hope for you, he’s hanging in there and really putting up a fight. I am really happy to hear how much of a person interest your vet has taken, it sounds like they really are doing everything they can to help him.

I keep thinking about you both and talking to my OH about your updates, we are both pulling for you and I hope they find out what’s wrong.

Positive thoughts from us, Truffle and Luther too xx
