When is the RWAF Conference this year?

I'm really interested in going but not too sure what goes on there, would someone that has been be able to run through the kind of things that go on?

Am I right in thinking that last year there were stalls and stuff outside of the main conference? So even if you couldn't afford a ticket there was things to do?

I'm a bit upset I can't go, it's not very easy to get to, I thought it was at Wood Green London to start with!

Is there any chance next year it could be at a location a bit more easy to get to with public transport?

I so wanted to go, but it's the week my parents are away and no one to look after the buns for the day. I can't leave Cleo with anyone else with her being so poorly :(

When I went last year I got a train to huntingdon and a taxi to the rescue, the taxi wasent too bad :)

I live on the South East coast, it's not really doable as a daytrip, not with the animals here to look after!

There are no trade stands this year. Usually we run the owners' conference alongside the vet conference, but we can not run them together now, because now the vet conference has workshops it is just too much to manage on one day and no venues have enough rooms!

So, it is 3 speakers, with 2 hours each so that they can cover the topics in detail, no time lost changing rooms, and there will be far more time to ask and answer questions.

We are not hiring the main hall, to keep costs down, so there are no trade stands other than Bunny Bazaar

Places are limited, so please book up ASAP!

Really??? Someone should tell Runaround then because they seem to think they will be there! In fact I've placed an order with them that they've promised to bring with them so I don't have to pay postage costs! Tad confused now?!?

I really enjoyed last year it was the first year I had been! I loved being able to select the lectures I went to as I was interested in hearing a range of some of the well known rabbit specialists speak and was more focused on the more technical/medical lectures... info we can't readily get elsewhere! I also enjoyed looking round the stands and buying things for my buns! The conference costs a lot of money but its sounding like its been somewhat watered down for the owners and now you're saying there are no stalls to look round either :?

We are not hiring the main hall, so the limited number of stands will be in the lecture room. We are therefore very limited for space. This is to keep costs down and make it affordable for owners - hiring the hall could add an extra £20 to the owners' ticket price, for example.

So, we will be there, as will Runaround, but not with their usual big display, and possibly Vet Ark too as they have a small stand and their cleaning products will be really useful to have on sale.

Regarding the content of the programme, this is not a 'watered down' version of anything. It is tailored specifically for owners. We feel a talk on what to feed rabbits from our gardens and wild plants is infinitely more useful to owners than an adapted version of a vet talk on ear surgery, for example. This is another reason why we have divided the conferences, so that we can target the specific audiences, tailor the programme to suit and give full attention to delegates and their programme of information.

Unfortunately I can't make it as I am not allowed to travel long distances at the moment and have too many commitments here. I hope it goes well though.

Was there one in Scotland at **** Vets last year too, or am I imagining things? If so, will it be there this year as well?
