Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
Hi all, Theo is home! Has his teeth done and X-rays too...X-rays all clear. He has a nasal infection too which she took swabs off. Trying baytril to see if that works before we send it off to be tested. Booked back in for appointment on Wednesday so fingers crossed his nose will be better by then. Thanks for everyone's positive vibes, I've been worried sick all day!

Can I give metacam and baytril at the same time in the same syringe? I need to give both twice a day!
Finally got him to eat a bit of food so I can attempt to get some sleep! Night all...thank you for your continued support! It really is appreciated
He's had some broccoli this morning and he's moved to his hay box but hasn't eaten any yet. Still seems quiet so hopefully he'll be hopping around when I get home from work
Hi all, another update on Theo...he has been on baytril for 10 days and still has discharge from his nose. Been back to the vets today and we're sending his swabs off to be tested. Hopefully that will put us on the right course of treatment. My concern is if the swab comes back inconclusive as the vet said she would need to send me to a specialist really hoping it doesn't come to that.
