Warning- This is NOT a Vaccine and it WILL NOT Protect a Rabbit from Myxo/RHD1+2

I clicked on the link and at the bottom it had the price as £0.00, so I might just order a bottle out of mischief!

Spot on Alison.

The harm being done is that someone may choose not to vaccinate and try this.... which means they are laid completely open to all three viruses.

Vaccination with the recognised vaccines is the only way to protect - period.

Even more worrying is that several major pet insurers apparently approve of these as alternatives to vaccination for cats, dogs and rabbits, according to the claims made:

Now that is worrying... Considering how they've covered themselves with the whole this actually doesn't work stuff... I'm inclined to think that's true about the insurance companies approving of it...

I wonder why they would.. Unless it doesn't chance anything for them...?

Indeed, thank you (I've altered my post slightly, sorry!). It's tantamount to bullying.

If the bullies out themselves on the Forum, then that's only to the good :)

Why people make unfounded personal attacks instead of sticking to the subject at hand that needs dealing with is quite beyond me!

Well I have just had cause to speak with Tesco Pet Insurance

1- They do NOT Insure Rabbits at all, only cats and dogs

2- They DO NOT routinely offer cover for Cats/Dogs vaccinated 'homeopathically' :?
Oooo that's how you get them then

The RWAF have just replied to an email I sent to them about the 'Homeopathic Vaccine' and they are already on the case with both Trading Standards and the VMD. They have also issued alerts all over social media x

This company has a similar idea to the one you've just reported.

Could you post the links to RWAF 'alerts all over social media' please? :)

ETA ... Ah OK - just seen this on RWAF twitter (can't see it elsewhere?):

https://twitter.com/rabbitrwaf?lang=en

It says: This is not a vaccine, the only way to protect your rabbits is by vaccinating them with your rabbit friendly vet.

It was posted on RWAF Twitter the same day you began this thread, so they obviously already knew about it :thumb:

Which is what I said in my previous post

On a general point, having a debate about something on a social website is all well and good but unless folk make an actual stand and are proactive about something - like reporting it to the relevant bodies - it's a complete waste of time. So I'm glad Jane has done exactly that. I couldn't as I don't know the full facts etc. so can't.

.

This was already done, by RWAF, prior to this thread beginning :)

I have now heard from RWAF and they have confirmed that they have contacted ALL the appropriate bodies and it's being dealt with.

From their Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/RabbitRWAF/posts/10156477612087148

Twitter - link as above.

Of course anyone else can add their two penneth :) However, the RWAF had already done their important bit prior to our discussion here and hopefully they are going to be listened to more than a single you or I.

Just to be clear, the RWAF have stated that they never disclose details of the procedures they take to anyone, and therefore do not confirm if they have contacted Trading Standards and VMD.

Buuuut ... as anyone can complain to these bodies and you don't have to be a veterinary professional or a welfare organisation in order to do so, they would encourage people to add their voice to the widespread disapproval of this 'vaccine' :)

Please feel free to vent your feelings towards the above bodies and any other appropriate outlet :D

Just want to add that no insurance will offer cover to an animal that hasn't been vaccinated at their vets with recognised vaccines. (E.g. nobivac).

Meaning homeopathic vaccines make the insurance void and they will not pay for any illness that could be vaccinated against.

I'm glad that the RWAF are on the case and taking appropriate action. If anybody comes across similar products, flagging them up to the RWAF would be a good idea.

*Puts moderator hat on* Please take up any issues re. bullying in private with a mod - either via PM or the Report Post button...... you all know the procedure by now. No more discussion of bullying on thread please.

Also, it makes little difference whether the RWAF were already aware and taking action before Jane got in touch with them. Likewise, I'm sure we can trust that the RWAF know exactly who to approach with their concerns so no need for any more discussion re. the timeline of events or what info was disclosed to who. *takes hat off again*
