Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
Oh hello beautiful Doughnut your poor little tail looks so much better now, and you look much brighter than in the first photo. Stay well now little girlie xx
Gorgeous pics of Doughnut She is a legend
Yes she is pretty gorgeous . How are your little ones? xx
Ah I'm trying to fatten her up now with the dual care pellets. They seem to make her really hungry which is good. She used to be 1.24kg now she's about 1.05kg! Need to chubb her out a bit
I've just got one bunny now Treacle, Doughnuts double  she's 6 1/2 now, nearly lost her after a dental a few months ago, she was in stasis. Like Doughnut, she's a tough little cookie still got my gorgeous kitty cat George
That tail's back for a-wagging I'm never going to forget those posts Great to hear she's recovering really well
Awww...sweet little darling!
Thanks for those pictures, cpayne, they gave me quite a smile.
Oh what a treat to see photos of Doughnut! x
Awwww bless her, she'll enjoy her extra food I am sure
Small like Bing, he is 1.3 kg.
So relieved he has had his first vaccinations now. Second one in two weeks.
Been back to my specialist. He showed me the nodules that were internal but are now coming to the surface. They are filled with pus and he got some of it out. Pretty disgusting and an awful disease. I've cleaned the ones I can feel with salt warm water to encourage the pus out but he said she will do it herself but it just gives her a helping hand. He said there are less lumps as apparently she had lots. I can feel them more as they are near the surface! Just wanted to share my experience of myxi with people as it was different to what I imagined, since they were internal lumps!
Thank you for the update and I hope that Doughnut is coping OK with everything. Did Mark mention using a bit of medical grade manuka honey on any open and draining lump ? Sending lots more vibes for her x
No he didn't, he said I can try and prise the pus out a bit but she will do most of it. I'm finding chunks of fur with the parts of the nodules on them! I said I've been giving her more pellets to fatten her up which means she isn't eating that much hay, he said to continue with the fattening and not to worry about the hay as long as she is drinking, which she is.
She's now 1.15kg from 1kg, just want to get her to 1.2kg then I will start reducing the dual care pellets again. I'm going to keep her on them permanently as they are so good for her digestion.
