Our hand reared baby wildie, Cookie, passed away suddenly on 2 July. He has left us with broken hearts.
Cookie was around 4 days old when I found him crawling around helplessly on the path while I was running through the countryside. He was scratched, bitten and bruised, but his injuries healed quickly. He was growing up fast and was full of mischief. We do not know what went wrong, but at just over 5 weeks old he became acutely ill on the morning of 2 July and died in my arms.
Cookie was our bunny in a million. We have come through so much with him over the past 5 weeks. I feel privileged to have been a part of his life and to have been able to watch him grow, I only wish it could have been for much longer.
He loved to be picked up and cuddled, he would snuggle into my hand and bury his little face into my fingers. I miss him so much.
Cookie, I am so sorry you didn't make it, we tried so hard and always did our very best for you. We will always love you and you will stay in our hearts forever. xx
