As the thread states, yes I kind of rescued 2 Buns yesterday. I don't really want to go into the reasons as its quite personal and heartbreaking for their previous owner and I don't want to break her confidence in me but yesterday afternoon I was contacted and asked if i knew anybody who would take 2 Rabbits, urgently. I was told they were male and female, single buns and both are around 1-2 years old. I stated i didn't know of anybody, especially if the buns were not neutered and spayed. So the conversation went on and I offered to take them in and get them away from what is a difficult circumstance, the previous owner had a lot! and I mean a lot of Rabbits and I think she was needing some help. So I went to view them yesterday and there was no way I could have left them there, again I don't really want to slate anyone or say nasty things on here but it was clear they needed to get out of there and quickly.
Im not quite sure how this is going to go but these rabbits have had many homes already!in such a short time in their lives I have made a promise to to them that they will never be rehomed again. Its really quite heartbreaking because they are so beautiful and friendly although the female is extremely fearful and shy and doesn't look in the best condition.
They are named Talis and Troy and I suspect they might have been a breeding pair but the lady said they weren't. Anyway booking Troy in for a neuter and both in for check ups next week. I will spay Talis when she has calmed down. They both flinch when you stroke them as if they are scared so not sure what has gone on.
I need to get another 6-7ft hutch and run as at the moment i am using spare hutches.
Troy is enormous! and Talis not far behind him.
So i now own 4 rabbits and will have 5 next week when we pick our baby up.
How can I settle and stop them being so scared of us? I will need to build up their trust as they are quite fearful.
This is Troy
this is Talis
