Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Not my buns... Jaspers eye is ok now thankfully :D

I'm at my friends house at the moment, just been out to see her rabbit and she had this thick cloudy liquid stuff coming out of her eye... apparently it's been like it for a few days now and she's been wiping it away but hasn't taken it to the vets yet. I told her I'd come on here to see if anyone knew what it could be. Other eye is totally fine. Can anyone help please?

She's possible scratched it or got a foreign body trapped in it. I got a bit of grit in my eye once and even after it was gone my eye got infected and wept for days. Try flushing the eye?

Do you think it's worth me suggesting she take her bun to the vets? I can't see anything in the eye :?

Deffo take to vets :D , It coud be conjuctivitis (sp?)or an infection in the duct, so the eye will need treating. Eye problems are normaly a sign for another problem.

You must get her to take the rabbit to the vet. It will not get better on its own. To start with she may be given fucathemic cream to put in the eye. If that does not clear it up the vet will look into the possability of duct flush. Whatever it needs sorting. val

Thanks... I'll tell her that, I told her to take the bun to the vets and she said she'd tell her mum to book an appointment when she's back from holiday (tomorrow I think). Poor bun... I feel so sorry for her, I wish I could have just taken her last night :(
