Available Individual: Special needs bunny, needs loving home

Might be worth sending a PM direct to binky helper :)

I would have loved to have taken him on, I really fell for the little guy :(

If I was trying to re-home a rabbit I'm quite sure I would be checking each day but I guess we never know what is going on in people's lives.

Exactly, especially as someone else showed an interest and she replied to them, I would have given him a home here for the rest of his life and got him his treatment, oh well.....obviously doesn't need a home now, never mind, there are plenty of other special needs bunnies looking for help :thumb:

I don't understand how you can be so flippant about a living animal :(

I am certainly NOT being flippant about any living animal, I really object to that comment, you clearly don't know me or all the work I do, I find it really frustrating when someone puts up a thread asking for a home for a special needs bunny and then doesn't check back in a WEEK to see if there is any interest, please do not refer to me being flippant about ANY animal!!!

I know the work you do, and of course I wouldn't criticise that. I just found your comment 'oh well.....obviously doesn't need a home now, never mind, there are plenty of other special needs bunnies looking for help' quite sad :(

You don't know the circumstances of the OP so I don't think it's fair to judge

I AM NOT BEING FLIPPANT, how many more times, I would never be flippant about ANY animal

If you can't say anything helpful or constructive then please don't comment on my input

I think Snowy's comments are very valid to be honest. If this little guy is really in such desperate need of a forever home, then the OP should be checking for any updates or else why bother posting the request.

That's brilliant news Snowy, that you would have been prepared to take him on. I was thinking about it and have the space and the fantastic bunny vet who is a dental specialist as well, but my latest mini lop rescue bun, Scooter, is an awful lot worse than I was led to believe, and the poor little guy's body is so terribly twisted, that his spine, hips, front legs as well now, are all becoming badly deformed, and I can't believe for a minute that he is ok to leave like this, especially as I have now found out he didn't even have any x-rays done, so I don't see how the rescue's vet really could safely say that he is fine, when he quite clearly isn't. He can't even lie down how you would expect him too, and it looks like the only way forward is going to be to amputate the leg, and then intensive physio, as Simon thinks a lot of his body could be improved on, although probably unrealistic to expect to straighten it completely how it should be, but at least things weren't worsen anymore, and so, even though he is insured, I obviously had to disclose his hind leg, and so am going to have to finance his surgery and everything myself now. It's not a problem, and I would never have not had him, but it just means I wouldn't have the funds for Fudge's treatment for a little while until Scooter is sorted and on the mend.

It seems unfair for you to have to pick up all his bills when you have so many, and so if you were interested at all and if he did end up coming to you, I would gladly take Fudge on, so that you didn't have all the expense, once Scooter has had his surgery and recovered. At the moment, I think it is just fear of the unknown really, because I may be pleasantly surprised, or horribly shocked at what it is likely to all cost

I can understand absolutely why Snowy is so frustrated - she asked if this bunny had been re-homed on 2 October - and the OP didn't reply (and still hasn't), despite being on here on another thread on 4 October.

Arrangements could have been in hand by now for this poor rabbit.

ETA (By OP I mean Binky Helper, not Soad.)

Please don't shout at me, there's simply no need.

I can understand why you are frustrated at the OP, but as I said, I found your comment odd. End of. You must not have meant it in the way that I read it.

Ah you are so sweet. That's why I thought of you when I saw this little guy.

Poor little Scooter. xx

Exactly my point.

This is a busy forum. I've not been on for 12 hours ish and there's 6 pages of new posts to catch up on. It's quite easy to see how someone could miss that the thread has been posted in, even more so if you don't come on the computer every day or only browse on a mobile phone etc etc. For all we know binky helper has had a personal emergency, or another rabbit crisis. There's a hundred possible reasons and making rude comments and/or presumptions about binky helper's dedication to finding a home for Fudge don't help anyone, certainly not the rabbit in question.

I totally agree, but I believe it was more to do with the OP being on the forum 2 days after Snowy sent her a pm, and posting on other threads. I think it would have just been good manners to at least acknowledge a pm when somebody is trying to help you and more importantly the rabbit concerned, and I would imagine if that had not happened no one would be a little upset with her, as like you say, it is very variable the amount of time we all have to spend on the forum, and there are times when people may not be on here for days, weeks even at a time.

Well, hopefully little Fudge has got a forever home now, and I hope that all is well with Binky Helper as well.

Nowhere on here does it say that Snowy sent her a PM - in fact that was my suggestion to start with? :?

Sorry my mistake. Apparently messages had been left on the thread on the 2nd, but I guess Fudge is in a new home now, which would be great news, and so she didn't feel the need to check on here for any interest.

Guys, please don't argue amongst yourselves over this - it doesn't help anybody, least of all the rabbit if it still needs a home.

Please bear in mind that people have real lives outside of the forum and, with the best will in the world, sometimes posts can be missed and not replied to. We could sit here all day making assumptions about why that might be but that'll get us all nowhere as nobody knows the facts, so best to drop it.

As a general rule, if you reply to something on here and don't get a response, then a quick heads up by PM to the person you want to speak to would be a good first port of call.

Can we please get the thread back on track now.

Rabbit rehomed
