Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Rabbits nose bitten off

New Kit
hi i am new to the forum and i am looking for some help if possible..
i have 5 Rabbits and on saturday one of the youngest ones poked her nose into the cage of the older rabbits and one of them bit her nose right off. it was hanging down so i took her to the vet sat morning she gave her an antibiotic injection and cut what was hanging down off. sunday she was fine all day but today she is very listless and has'nt moved from the corner of the kitchen her head is on one side and she seems very wobbly. any ideas???

Take her to the vet.she could have anything wrong with her but if a bunis showing signs of illness/pain then its generally serious!

Best of luck

xx

She is probably in pain
Has she had any pain relief ?
Is she eating and pooing?

Your desciption of her being 'wobbly' is of great concern and I would strongly advise you to contact an emergency Vet tonight

Bless :( Sounds very painful.

If i were you, i would call the vets now and speak to them over the phone, theyve already seen her condition. Its sounds to me like shes in pain  Its worrying that she isnt pooing :( Is she eating?? Id try and encourage her to move around a little.

Sending lots of vibes xxxx

You really need the advice of a vet ASAP. As already said she will be in pain, any pain killer given on Saturday will be wearing off by now, and therefore not eating. I would also be concerned with infection and if she is outside, I would be concerned by the cold effecting her too. Imagine how painful your nose can get when in the cold, then imagine if there was already a sore patch there.

Hi there- Here is List of annuals that rabbits won’t eat, and what they do eat

Anyone know where to find such a list? Annuals only, not perennials. If there is none, maybe we can make one here from our own experiences. (Sure would save me and probably others time and effort). A separate list could be made for what deer eat, etc. My only problem is rabbits, so I would like to keep them separate.

RABBITS EAT

Zinnias
Lobelia
Petunias

RABBITS DON’T EAT

Coleus
Snapdragons
Ageratum
Geraniums
Salvia
Dianthus
Dusty miller

This has happened to one of my bunnies over the weekend but the vet stitched it back up. My bunny had 0.3ml injectable baytril and is on 0.5ml twice daily for a week to make sure it doesnt get infected.

It sounds as though your bunny may have an infection or be suffering from shock. Either way he needs to see a vet ASAP.
