Latest update from Rescue before New Year Today we finished Doctor visit at midnight again.We manage to examine 20 bunnies and also performed 2 castration treatments.
Also Roosevelt is not feeling well From some time now there is no improvement in his health and his mobility.
Duszek is still having an issue with the enlarged lymph node.The good news is now we know is not a cancer.But he is still fighting with the very strong inflammation and deepen heart failure.We also went through so many crisis with him that no matter how bad it will gets no one can even imagine not having Duszek around.
Boski is waiting for his head RTG wich will be performed next week.Also we need to clear his tear duct,hoping that there will be no need to extract his teeth.Other than that he is doing fine.

From the bad news tonight (January1st) Filadelphia start worrying us.During the day she was not eating or not producing any droppings.Her body temperature increased and her mobility is not normal.Sins now everything was o.k even after the Doctor visit on Thursday she was doing great.But for now we start giving her some medication hoping for the best.
Roosevelt is also worrying us even more than couple days ago He is lying more often now looking like he doesn't have any strength left in his front paws.He is not eating his cecotropes (sometimes called "night droppings") that's why we need to clean his fur sometimes twice a day because everything is sticking to him.The only good thing is that he is eating and the paralysis have no negative effect on the urine excretion.

On Thursday (January 8th)we decided to performed treatment to removed growth located on the left side of his lymph node.From the previous biopsy we know that there is no cancer cells but we can not eliminate the neoplastic processes.The performed puncture on Thursday is just to give us idea if this is just a abscess or something else.For now the size of his growth is the size of the ping pong ball.It's also getting bigger and Duszek doesn't like when it's touched.During the weekend he was also coughting more but his weight didn't change.His appetite is good but he is more mellow.But don't let him fool you because he is still a little trouble maker He is also our little helper who like to help feed Filadelfia which is not feeling that well We don't understand what happen to her.From the last Sunday there is no improvement in her health She doesn't wanna eat ,just leaving single dropping (yesterday zero) also losing weight We wanna give her a chance but unfortunately tomorrow we need to performed laparotomy.

Gawrosz health is also getting worst His intestines just stop working.Sins yesterday he produced just couple (very ugly)droppings.Again we are fighting with intestinal blockage.Is better now than this afternoon.But it will take some time to make his belly work correctly again.
On Thursday together with the Doctor we decided that the best solution for Roosevelt will be the wheelchair.From the beginning we had a big hopes that one day he will be walking but today we know that in his situation is not possible.His spine is getting bent and it will just get worst because of his bad body posture.On Friday he was having a better day.He was sitting most of the day with his straighten front paws.But lately mostly he is lying more.We also cleaning his fur twice a day because he is having problem with eating his cecotrophys which sticking to his fur.Roosevelt is also not gaining any weight.He is very tiny (just 0,85 kg) We ask for help find the wheelchair for him because in Poland this is still very hard task.One of our friend offered us her own bunny wheelchair because Cynio (her bunny)is not using it that often.If that will not work we will ask you (our friend around the world) for help.

Unfortunately Gawrosz is no longer with us He left us unexpected We also said goodby to Filadelfia we just let her go.We decided not to wake her up after anaesthesia Duszek is fighting after very serious surgery.He is always fighting,defies logic.....
Let's hope that tomorrow will be little bit better ...

Just wanna to share with you information about Gawrosz and Filadelfia autopsy results.
After opening Filadelfia abdominal cavity we noticed that intestine was attached to the wall of her abdominal cavity and also to cervix.Also under subcutaneous layer we found small abscess but that was just the begging of the disaster Small abscesses were scattered in many different places (they were almost everywhere) including liver (which was bad,very fragile).In that moment we knew that the situation is bad - very bad.If not the presence of the abscesses we would try to separate intestine but presence of pus in that form didn't gave us any delusion for the positive ending.After analyzing the whole situation we decided not to wake her up after anesthesia .Just making that decision we could protected her from the suffering.It was better for her to leave us in peace and not to live for couple hours or couple days in pain.
In Gawrosz case the cause of death was cardiac tamponade.His intestine were in terrible condition.Evry each time when Doctor was performing palpation he said that Gawrosz intestine are massive. Now we also know that because of his (abnormally)massive intestine his droppings were not like normal bunny droppings.In that massive intestine was a lot of feces (it was allover).After Sunday intestinal blockage his intestines start working and he was producing something similar to the droppings but he couldn't empty his intestine completely.We also suspect that toxemia was having something to do with his death.Just on Monday Gawrosz was eating his favorite medication (gasprid).At night he was eating his favorite dry herbs.After just couple hours when I came home from my shift in Rabbit Rescue I found him dead

As you know Duszek went through very hard surgery on Monday. It turned out that now we are dealing with big and also non standard abscess (very badly walled-off with adenomatous structure).Abscess form near lymph nodes (had nothing to do with oral cavity).But because of his location,including presence of zygomatic vein which he coat along with tissues.His removal require enormous precision and patience.One wrong move could kill Duszek.Eventually Doctor separate all tissues and completely removed abscess.
Soon after Doctor star the surgery Duszek twice stop breathing for a moment.After that everything was going much better and Duszek awake after anesthesia quite fast.But that was very hard night for him.He have very strong cough - but after the check up next day Doctor said that Duszek is in stable condition. Also swelling of the tissues is pretty big and pressing windpipe (but we are hoping that flegamina will ease breathing).Abscess which was removed on Monday was metastatic abscess.One of the many taht Duszek is fighting with from many years.We know that his hall body is infested by pus.That's why even after successful surgery we are still sceptical knowing that everyday sepsis can kill Duszek
On the other hand Duszek is not even accepting that this can happen.He is a fighter and even from the worst situation or a bad day he try to take something positive.You can tell that only thing He wants in life is just to live.

Latest update on Duszek from Wednesday and Friday. He is feeling much better.His appetite is still small but he will never refused to eat his favorite dry apples and raisins He also eat by himself rodi care (emergency food) Breathing is the same ,temperature is o.k
Anyways - tonight Duszek try to dig the hole in my couch so that's mean that his good mood is coming back Also important fact is that the pus is not accumulating in the spot from where the abscess was removed.Get well soon little fighter XOXO

Latest update on Duszek from Saturday and Sunday.Yesterday was a really bad day for him At night he eat some Rodi Care but during the day he eat not that much.Also in the spot from where the abscess was removed the yeasty fluid with pus clump start accumulating.Duszek is not doing so good - this time we can really see that But today he is doing much better.He was just not so happy with us when we try to clean his spot from where the abscess was removed.Tomorrow he is going to see the Doctor.
Yesterday we also got a new bunny at the Rescue.His name is Gilbert.He was abandoned in the small cage on the very cold day.We think he is an older bunny with major dental issues.Overgrown upper incisors cause wounds in the lower gum.He also is not eating much but he is full of energy ( or more specific full of hormone ) When he seats in the cage he is running around like crazy,throwing everything what is around him.Gilbert is not resting much but when he is out of the cage he is lashing out on my feet - also don't like camera Tomorrow he is going to see the Doctor.Head RTG needs to be done also some teeth removal and castration.Yesterday to relieve him we partly cut his teeth.

From the good news today Marsylia traveled to her forever home hoping that she will become a perfect wife
Also Mufasa found his forever home in Bydgoszcz.He is one of our senior bunnies.He came to us almost 2 years ago in a very bad condition.Last 10 months he spend at foster home but despite the fact that he is an older bunny he is in a really good shape.Not counting cataract,heart murmurs(because of his age) and also blocked tear duct.

Unfortunately we have some bad news for you today.Nagasaki is no longer with us He passed away last tonight.We have no idea what happened.Just on Thursday he was at the Doctor office for check up.He was doing very well.Even yesterday afternoon when I was checking on him nothing was suggesting that something like that will happen.Today morning we found dropping in his cage and also dark urine.We will know more after the autopsy We will missed you little one .....

It's time to finally introduce you our 3 new bunnies.
Minnie is suffering from the mutual deformation of glenohumeral joint and carpal joints.It looks like is a genetic defect.Her heart is beating very fast and we could also hear the bronchial murmur.In the coming days we will schedule Minnie to do chest and head RTG.Like you can see on the picture her one eye is much bigger.We also did the blood test.For now she is not eating much and not producing a lot of droppings.
Piorko is suffering from the atrophy adipose tissue .In his intestines there is no sign of droppings.Because of his left eye is swollen and his teeth are not in the best condition we also need to schedule him for head RTG.Tomorrow we will get his blood test results.
Bibulka is also very tiny.She is also very underweight .Her fur is also in the bad condition.We also wanna test skin scrapings - but we are suspect yeast infection.We also did blood test on her.

Latest update on Roosevelt wheelchair.As you remembered we promised to first try wheelchair offered from Cynio - świat niepełnosprawnego królika.Unfortunately this was not the right fit for Roosevelt.It was to big and to heavy for him.But the good news is that he was willing to try it on and he had good time on it Later on we received another wheelchair from England from one of our followers on Rabbit Rescue in Torun facebook page.It was also not the right fit for Roosevelt but we wanna say thank you so much for caring and offering us your help.So we decided that the best thing will be to order the wheelchair made just for Roosevelt and his body type from the Admirał Company (Specialized in wheelchairs for all kinds of animlas).We are already after preliminary fitting for the wheelchair and looks like Roosevelt is very open to the idea of living his life as a handicap bunny.

Today I wanna share some great news with you from the adoption section that Mgiełka & Petitka left the Rescue on Sunday Most of the time I haw so much to say but those news making me speechless (because I am so happy )We were waiting for that moment couple years now praying that one day someone will fall in love with those two special need bunnies.And they will find there loving forever homes as every bunny deserves one.They are living under one roof with Galazka&Gardena.From there new family we know that they are doing great and they loving there new home Moments like that give us hope that in life everything is possible and there are still good people around us.Thank you for opening your hearts for those two little angels
