Hi
I'm a new poster, been lurking on this forum for a while.
One of my buns has developed a couple of bald patches on her toe pads (I had noticed her holding one front paw up on occasion). Its on a couple of toes on both front feet and maybe one of her back paws aswell.
Shes a 9 month old free roaming mini rex. Quite slim and the fur on her paws isnt overly thick (I say this as her sister Pip is a bit of a more fluffy and chunky rabbit with very fluffy feet even on the bottom).
My concern is this a possible beginning to sore hocks? I had thought this was more on the flats of the back paws? Or does she need her front nails clipped more regularly to take the pressure off? Or is it a part of the rex breed and lack of guard hairs?
As she free roams she is on a number of different surfaces daily - wood, carpet, laminate, grass and paving.
Any advice appreciated, she's not showing any other symptoms or problems but I dont want it get any worse.
