  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Please send positive thoughts for my poorly boy

Phillip's not well :(
He's been fine all day/evening, but just went to give them an evening snack and he's refusing to eat.
He even let me pick him up and sat on my lap which isn't like him at all.
I've given a top up of Metacam and will see how he is in an hour otherwise I think it's going to be the OOH vet

Well he started eating about an hour after I posted this and was starting to look better towards midnight. Woke up at 3am and he wasn’t eating again, not moving and laid down in my lap (very unusual). Currently on the way to the emergency vet

I am sorry he relapsed after starting to eat. Perhaps the Madicam helped him earlier. Your monitoring him so closely overnight and taking him to ooh vets shows how lucky he is to have you in his life. . Sending tons of vibes for you and Phillip.

Sending millions of vibes for Philip. I hope the vet has been able to determine what’s troubling Philip.
Your swift observations show how well tuned in you are to Philip. Xx
