  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Phillip’s off to the vets

Thanks everyone. Some great ideas for the hay washing too! Will be trying those out today.

Unfortunately we've just put Phillip back in and him and Britney went for each other again. He's still not entirely himself and isn't eating fully, so that can't be helping. It's hard to know what to do for the best.

Oh no!

I personally would leave them apart til Phillip is tip top. You know they can bond when they are healthy so try not to worry x

Thanks JJ and J&B.
We didn't actually put him back in as such, he ran back in at the first opportunity! So we had left him to see what happened.

They're all sleeping in separate places at the moment, I will sit in here all afternoon with them and if anything else happens I'll separate til he's fully better. What a nightmare!!

Topping up vibes for all of you. Hope all works out with the hay washing etc.

I am sorry to hear they are just being grumpy. Fingers crossed it is just a little blip xx

Hope I’m not speaking too soon but we may have some progress.

I’m glad Phillip is settling back in. I agree, I think the ladies took their chance whe Phillip was at the vet, to regain dominance. Hopefully it’ll settle down in a few days.

Yes thankfully they’ve not ruined my birthday

They’ve all been brilliant together since I last posted and Phillip is back to his happy self  just the sneezing to sort and we’ll be all good
