Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi all

Not been on for a few days due to a family tragedy but thought I should let you all know how my dear yoshi got on . Original post Thread: UPDATE -BEEN VETS ..... stupid stupid vet!!!!!

When we went in on Wednesday for yoshi s eye to be flushed we saw a different vet :thumb: One of the other rabbit savy vets.... (A major relief) still not our normal vet but she is a bunny mummy herself and understands that these bunnies are our family.
They said they would probably have to sedate him so he could be in most of the day but as soon as he was around proper and in recovery we could take tiggs back up to him..... However this is where we were shocked..... When we called at the time they said to see how groggy our bunny was , he was ready to come home!!! He sat perfectly calm and let them unblock both his eyes without sedation. The vet said they checked for signs of distress and all yoshi did was occasionally wipe his nose with his paw. :) we brought him home and tiggs fussed him loads and finally flaked for the first time that day. the thing with these two during the day when they are having a afternoon snooze they lay together but one sleeps and the other watches over them. Then they swap  it's only in their home when I see them occasionally both sparko.

She said to focus on getting the eye done and give the mounting behaviour a couple more weeks as long as Tiggs doesn't mind (which she doesn't she just sits eating and lets him carry on :D )
He is on drops for the next week for his eye which I don't even have to battle to get it, he just sits there ! Brave boy :)
