  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

millie

There was a thread on here a while back about how high rabbits jump.

Binky can jump 5ft from standing

I tell you he surprised me

Hope millie is ok this morning :D And elve I don't know much about big buny breeds either but if she is only 5 months old she is HUGE!

yeah she is really big but im not 100% the previous owners told me her correct age! going to vets on the 20th will twenty pounds be enough for a check up because thats all i have at the moment???

hi

Best ask the vet's receptionist on the phone as they vary - plus if she needs any treatment that adds on to the price of the checkup. Have you found a vet that knows about rabbits - lots of them are cat and dog specialists, and don't even know about basic rabbit care

That link I gave you has a questionairre to ask vets - but I haven't been brave enough to use it yet

Edana and the boys

there is only one vets near so i have to stick to that im affraid but they did refurbish it and now dogs are in one building cats in another and other animals in another so i suppose there are different specialists in each!

Just wanted to say "hello" as I saw you were on here the other day ready to burst about your new arrival!

What a gorgeous bun!!!! She looks like a French lop to me.

I hope that she is settling in well. I think it is fair to say she is going to a very loving home.
