I've got 13, & 2 others that aren't meant to be permanent (1 was my cousins, he's being nursed back to health & then neutered & rehomed, 1 stray), plus 2 I'm bonding:lol:

My job pays ok, & I get vets discounts. Mine are outdoors in an aviary style set up or hutch & runs. The group thing makes cleaning easier & quicker. I have a horse too.

If I didn't have my animals, my pole, my gym membership - what would I do in my free time? Watch TV? No thanks

Hmmm.
4 rabbits for me are enough along with the 3 cats and the parrot.
I havent alot of money but what I have got, I try to give my very best to each pet I own.

Are you sure the person is in the UK? They might not need shots in their country. You don't here since there's no wild European rabbits to spread myxi and VHD.

Or like others have said, they could have a lot of money or they could just save money for shots and go without something else. As a comparison, horse shots are much more expensive (and a lot more of them, over here at least) than rabbit shots and people will multiple horses save back the money for them.

Yep it all depends on what one chooses to spend their pennies on.
I keep my four milking goats including feed, hay and grazing for what I used to spend on tobacco:shock:
I know which I enjoy more and such an incentive to stop smoking

We all have a different number of pets we can adequately care for, because we don't all have the same responsibilities in life/time constraints/space/finances etc etc etc.

This ( apart from I don't have a horse :lol: ) but I spend a heck of a lot of money on my rabbits. If I didn't have them? It'd go on clothes, make up, socialising... I'm sure I'd be able to spend it! :lol: I don't go out every weekend, I don't smoke, I drive a banger - it's about compromise. Not consciously. You just make sure you have the money because you want them in your life and want to give them the best life. I suppose it's a bit like when people have children and we wonder how do they afford them - they just do by living toward your means

I agree though, whatever your reason for having rabbits and limits etc, we all have them because we choose to and want to give them the best life within our means. And you can stretch the means - like I will probably never have a holiday again as long as I have this many and I last bought any clothes 3 years ago. It's about compromise and making sure you always have something left to pay the vet bills. Even the emergencies that sadly we all have from time to time. I sometimes wonder how I would spend the money if I didn't have them and think probably on rubbish or nothing as I consider it a hobby. Like shoes or handbags are for some people. A friend spent £70 on a bag, I said that is exactly to me like spending money on a new run. I couldn't have both so I have the run...

This is why I *only* have 7 and not 11 or 13, so I can afford that handbag too :lol::lol:

Luckily shoes, handbags and clothes are not my 'bag' lol otherwise I'd feel I'm missing out but I do collect teddy bears. I don't really see it as a compromise, well not really, because I enjoy having the buns more than I would anything else. But it is hard work, it is expensive, and it is difficult sometimes... if I had to spend more one to one time with them it would be impossible to have so many too.
