Wise Old Thumper
The other half has been going all-out on winter pruning on his walk back from work. Sometimes we go and guerilla garden some other paths on walks home from different places. This might be why Lopsy's put on weight... But Matt (OH) thinks he's constantly hungry, by the way he charges outside when we go out and pretty much forces his way through the run bars almost: Matt is very soft I'm less soft/more pragmatic and Lopsy gets what he's supposed to have, but I am the one who does his treatball (video to come) and kitchen-based treats like carrot ends and apple core leftovers (just the non-seed bits, of course!). So he tends to come to whoever's in the garden!
Anyway, here's a few pictures of his run when Matt's just put fresh stuff in: this was a particularly heavy day!
The finished article.
The 'view' from the top. Matt likes to challenge Lopsy and make him stretch for things by ramming stuff through the bars at the top. Lopsy can reach the roof if he puts his mind to it, but he does have to fully stretch!
Lopsy tucking in. Pretty much as soon as Matt's put it in...!
And here's the 'after'!
We reckon if he put his mind to it, he could reduce that much down in about 15mins.
This is how we came back to him one day: he's thrown his hut-thing or tipped it over (he does tortoise impressions by rolling his treatball in there: hilarious!), eaten everything in sight, slightly chewed one of the tubes and, Heavens Above, eaten so much hay his poos were golden! He was desperate to be fed: but then that's not unusual! >D
Lopsy has a treatball. Here he is demostrating the trick he's learnt about ramming it into a corner and lifting it with his nose (he has quite a long nose!). Unfortunately, the corner he generally decides on is the one which has the door (which technically separates the run from the hutch but is always open, and jammed into the bars to keep it so), so he has to crawl underneath and look really uncomfy! Idiot
Now, he was very interested in the hay bag one day, which I always leave leaning against his run while I'm busy with it. As I wasn't using it, I wondered if he wanted some, so tipped it upside doen through the run hatch (covering him in bits...) and he was happily muchning away. So, I turned it over and laid it in his hutch. Great way to get more hay in his diet, and he loves this one! A B&M special (seriously, B&M Bargains is a wonderful place! Weird, but wonderful! Though I wouldn't recommend everything from there >D).
Finally, two videos: no idea if this will work as I've tried posting via Facebook (as I do for my pictures, except Public so you should all be able to see them, Facebook user or not). I'm sure you'll let me know if they don't!
First, Lopsy versus The Tubes! I hide his beans (=pellets) in tubes and stuff in hay: I am about to go and post this in the Enrichment thread. He runs with them, shakes and throws them, digs at them, all sorts of hilarious cat-bunny things!

Secondly, Lopsy and The Treatball! This is unfortunately just after the 'first lap': Lopsy chases his ball for a whole lap of the run and through the tunnel before treats come out: I think he does it SO fast because he's SO excited nothing comes out! But I think it shows how excited he is by his ball... Well, OK, by his beans! Ends in his stupid gate position ;P
