  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Kimmy in the vets tommorow! U/D shes gone :-(

You did all you could for Kimmy.i know you are upset but you gave her the best two weeks of her life.Just tremember you are a lovely caring person.Big hug to you.

It was very difficult and I was told that Kimmy would have been in continous pain, I didnt want to loose her I just did what I was advised by the vet (who is a rabbit specialist vet) that it would be kinder on her to put her to sleep.

It should have been spotted in her earlier checks (prior to me adopting her) which is why the RSPCA are investigating, maybe then it could have been treated, I miss her so much.

Thank you for all your thoughts it means a lot!

You gave Kimmy 2 weeks of dedicated love and care. Some Bunnies never receive that in a lifetime.
She was lucky to have found you :)
I hope that you will feel able to open your home and your heart to another Bunny eventually. Not to replace Kimmy, noBun could. But you obviously have so much love to give and there are thousands of Buns out there who need someone like you.

My previous post was not meant to cause you further distress. I just feel so sad for what has happened

I understand what you meant it didnt cause me further distress, your showing concern.
You guys on this forum really help and seeing all your lovely bunnies helps too! Kimmy will always have a special place with me.

Maybe you could put a post in Rainbow Bridge for her, if you felt able to.
Then you can pop back onto the rememberence thread every now-and-again to post something or to just quietly remember her :)
I do that with the thread in Rainbow Bridge for my special Bun Jack. It does help.

:)
