  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Just seen a frenchie in the most awful state- UPDATE PIC!

Well done you and I'm so pleased to hear that she's picked up. :D I don't mean to be a party pooper but I think the life expectancy of Frenchies is not great  I rescued an 11 year old bun (coincidentally also called Molly).. we discovered "masses" in her abdomen less than a month that I took her on so I knew she was on borrowed time. I tried to keep an emotional distance so that I wouldn't be too distraught when the inevitable happened (and failed miserably at that  ) .
So my point is, enjoy every precious moment you have with this dear old girl - she obviously is

I just wanted to say well done for intervening ion the situation and doing the right thing by these buns. No buns deserve to live in terrible conditions and you saved them from this hard life. Well done - I admire you.

Poor bunnies! Well done for taking them on. :D I am sure they will have a great life with you, and I agree, sadly frenchies only see 5-6 years old, although it depends on the bun I suppose.

To be honest, family or not, I'd give them a good talking to, dipolmatically of course, because technically, they went against the law not treating an animal they knew to be unwell, tell them if they hadn't have been family or friends, you'd have not resisted reporting them for animal cruelity!

Well done you for helping those poor buns....I hope you enjoy having them...I'm sure they will repay your kindness a thousand fold! :bunny:  :bunny:

aaawwww she's a beauty! Im sure she will be so much happier now she is with you. Well done for giving her the love she deserves

well done on getting those poor buns out of there!! i hope Molly doesn't have Myxi, hopefully it is worse than it looks and with a bit of tlc i hope you can save her...at least you have given her a chance and now she will not suffer
