Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
At 2.4kg he sounds like a normal Dwarf lop weight.
Frenchies are anything from 4.5kg+ Most crosses would be in the middle.
will dig out some pics think he defo has frenchie in him! and he is getting bigger by the day ha x
Dwarf lops aren't actually small rabbits. 2.4kg is quite large. Is there a reason you think he has Frenchie in him? He could have some German Lop in him. They're from about 3.5-4.5kg.
He's gorgeous!!
I'd still say Dwarf lop. If you look at pictures of mine you'll see they have a different shape (and much larger ears than dwarf lops. ) I'd say Rolo looks like a dwarf.
River is 6 months old, and 5kg, so even with some Frenchie in I'd expect him to be bigger.
Not that it matters on earth what he is...he's beautiful!
(ETA: does he have any hay, as I couldn't see any in the pictures. If you worry about how much your feeding him, upping his hay intake would be the place to start.)
Frenchies usually have extra long ears & tails:lol:will dig out some pics think he defo has frenchie in him! and he is getting bigger by the day ha x
