I can’t find a single female!

After losing my 12 year old girl on Wednesday, I am trying to find a new friend for Ted, my 7 year old male. None of my local rescues seem to have single girls in, although there are lots of boys. It’s so dad seeing Ted on his own as he is a real rabbits rabbit and needs a girl to snuggle up to. If anyone knows of any single girls near south east London, please let me know! 🙏🏻

There's quite a few in Essex I saw on rabbit rehome, I'm in a similar situation atm lost my female last Saturday, so I had a quick look. My boy is the same, a rabbits only rabbit!

Sorry you lost your girl tho, 12 is a great age x

Honeybunnies in Leicester have females and rehome nationally. Eastbourne Rabbit Rescue have females, not sure if they rehome nationally but worth an ask

I think they are closing once they have rehomes the last of their animals. I have only seen male rabbits on their FB page recently.

I am sorry that you lost your girl too. Definitely the worst part of having rabbits when they lose their partner. I saw the Essex buns but it’s 1hr 45mins drive from me and I’m 7 months pregnant so would prefer one a little closer if possible. xx

*removed... no links to free ads please*

She might end up as snake food…….

I know she’s not an ‘official’ Rescue, but some Reptile keepers search the free ads for live feed. Also, the OP knows how important spaying and vaccinating is, so that would be done. IMO that is ‘Rescuing’.

Ah fair enough, if you did see any in Essex I'm happy to run a bun half way or something to you if that helps at all!

Have you tried GBH Rescue in Beckenham? They seem to have good contacts and will be aware of bunnies that haven't yet made it to rescues' websites.

So sorry for your loss. :(

Are GBH still operating? Their FB account hasn't been posted on in ages and I haven't seen ads on RR either. :(

You probably already have, but I'd contact local rescues in person rather than just looking at their adoption section. They might have someone on the waiting list who might be suitable, if you're lucky.

I'm not sure tbh. I was in email contact with Jacky about 18 months ago and she was certainly still operating then. Also at that time she was not posting on RR and also not keeping her website up to date. I had just assumed that she was using FB instead, which I don't use.

She's gorgeous! Why are none vaccinated tho [emoji58] Idk how I feel about bringing a rabbit home that's not been vaccinated tbh. Not just talking about her, so so so many aren't I've been noticing!

I wouldn't be that concerned about the non-vaccination I don't think. I think if she were quarantined as well as immediately vaccinated, there should be no problem. But I'm happy to be told that's wrong. This bunny is from a private person offering her for adoption, not a rescue, so the person just hasn't had her vaccinated. I presume the others you've seen are similar situations.

yeah Rudey hadn't been vaccinated for RHVD2 so I asked he be done prior to coming. I'd be hesitant to take an unvaccinated bunny into my home I think, even with quarantine
