'Homeopathic Nosodes' INSTEAD of Vaccinating *A Warning*

I guess it's down to individual beliefs. I know that the person on here who used Nosodes and subsequently lost several Rabbits to VHD genuinely believed what she was told by a supposed 'expert' in the field of Alternative Veterinary Medicine. She was utterly devastated by what happened, in fact I'd go as far as saying she never recovered from the trauma. We spoke about it often right up until when she died. She blamed herself completely and she said she would never forgive herself  She was my friend but nothing I said helped. Maybe it's because of her experience that I feel so strongly about the issue of using 'Alternative Medicine' (ie instead of and not alongside conventional treatments) for treating Rabbits. Or any animal.

Gosh that is very very sad. I have no doubt she thought she was doing something good at the time, like James's sister, who was actually offered this at her vets. I like alternative medicine myself and have used acupuncture, reflexology and osteopathy. I suppose if it comes to babies and animals it is back to conventional medicine for things like abx and vaccinations. Your friend believed it would work, as I am sure some people would, she was trying something thinking it was less harmful. If the bunnies didn't get VHD she would have believed it had worked and it was so unfortunate they did get it. Incredibly sad this haunted her until the end.

I too am not against using complimentary treatments, after all our Vet does just that !! But I would never use an alternative treatment instead of a conventional one. If a complimentary treatment will do no damage and if it does not interfere with the efficacy of any conventional treatment being given then no harm is done. Even if all the complimentary treatment does not actually work.

Sometimes complimentary treatments are of benefit because the Practitioner gives more time to the patient/client and so they, the patient/client, feel better because they feel someone actually cares. It is not always like that with conventional Medical Practitioners, especially those dealing with the Human Species !! As we both know from experience
