Disabled bunny toilet

Does anyone think this would work ? I'd use one half upstairs, the other down.

I need a low entrance point for Boo. They currently use large dog beds but there is a huge amount of waste as both seem to pee in one area. They are too big as they were bought when I thought I'd have 4 bonded bunnies. So I wanted something without air vents & not the really cheapy plastic looking things (I know, none of them are going to be pretty) as it will live in my view point in the lounge.

I'm not sure if bunny would tip up half a bed as the base is relatively small with wide, sloping sides.
What about a cat carrier instead - you can just use the base of that, or use with lid but take the door off.

I'm wondering how high the lip is at the front for Boo to get in. I've looked, but it doesn't seem to give that dimension. Have you considered a potting tray? Something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009ERXHFU/ref=twister_B01N19HDHK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I realise it's also plastic.

thanks, I hadn't considered the tipping risk ! I could use a carrier base (I did with Mousey) but its not the look I want in my lounge & I love watching them munch hay together & in a carrier one would have to be behind the other. I need good bunny visuals

Theres a couple of inches on their current dog bed & I'm confident she could do much higher - she just needs to "feel" where the entrance point is so she knows when to jump. its sad. She was the best at high places til her vision went. The potting tray looks ok- ish  but i'm thinking if there is no real lip she'll be evacuating the litter tray contents a little too easily.

Its such a responsibility buying a poop load of hard plastic

One of our outside litter trays is the Lakeland oven rack soaking tray https://www.lakeland.co.uk/search/oven+tray+cleaner (I can't get it to display individual items on this page). It's not as high as an underbed storage box. When Tethra was a bit wobbly about getting into litter trays, we gave him bricks as steps. This is obviously outside, but inside you could maybe put chunks of wood instead.

Sorry, I think my thread title was misleading. Its not an agility issue but her eyes & confidence related to not seeing. When she was last at vets they said she had good body condition. I think the entrance point is useful as its how she feels her way in. I need to be able to get a fair amount of hay in too. I do like higher sides for containing it.

Smaller dog beds? If the current ones work but are just too big.

thats where my search started but finding ones without ventilation holes that arent hideous & don't have bad reviews for being flimsy has been impossible

I know I'm being fussy

I've always taken the door and top off my pet carriers, and used them as litter trays for my old bunnies, and puppy pads under fleece for any little accidents in the surrounding area.

This is what I've had to do in the last few weeks, Harry rabbit is 11 and definitely not as agile as he used to be. This works for him :)

I would second the potting tray, I used to have one for my tilty bridge bun Teddy, it worked really well and tbh he didn't drag the litter back out with him. The only thing is they take up quite a bit of space, it was ideal for Teddy as he needed the space to turn around but may not be what you're looking for.

I got the cat bed like you all advised me to:lol:

I quite like it, empty contents straight in to green bin, quick swill with hosepipe at back of house, refill. Takes me 5 mins tops to do both. Bunnies are using it fine, it does look cosy when they are side by side but they don't seem to mind (sadly no photos of them together)

Now thats my reducing waste & not having to scrounge newspapers sorted I have ordered 180 litres of hemp bedding for litter tray bases. Its been a challenge getting wood litter and I end up using loads so works out a bit pricey
