Today my old boy Butch, an English Bull Terrier, died. It was a freak accident.... he choked to death on a piece of cheese. He was 14 and 1/4 years old and had a good innings, but thats not the way you'd want your dog to go. I did all I could and raced him to the vets but he died on the way and I feel absolutley awful. He was wonderful with the rabbits, cats and children and we'll miss him.

Sleep tight Butch Man, love you. xxx

Sorry to hear of your sad loss  The first pic of him with the bunny is lovely - they both look totally at ease and contented in each other's company.

I am so sorry, what a tragic accident :cry:

I've always loved bull terriers since I saw Incredible Journey at the cinema as a yound child

Oh no! How awful to have something like that happen  I really feel for you, it must have been a terrible shock :(

Thanks everyone. I'm still a bit gobsmacked to be honest. During his life Butch specialised in scavenging... he's eaten balls, cuddly toys, a complete KFC bucket with bones, various sticks, a sock, several shoes, a 6 pack of mince pies including box and foil cases, and even a pair of my pants... I'd become quite familiar with retrieving objects from his throat so its almost unbelievable that he choked on a piece of cheese.
