  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Blocked nose advice

Yeah I have to agree, been taking our dog to this local vet for years and he has been absolutely brilliant - but "ah yes, snuffles, presume you have brought her here because you would like to try to save her" didn't fill me with confidence
Fortunately we held off getting the other bun as a precaution, although the whole 17 would probably be at risk already

Unfortunately it is likely that the others are all suffering with similar illnesses. :( I do hope they have found safe, loving homes just as Moo Ping did.

Perhaps something good can come of this and you can think about maybe adopting a pair of buns in the future from a rescue if you feel you can offer a good home for them. That is if you decide not to take on the little nethie, if you do decide to take the little bun then you can always post in Rabbit Chat asking for a rabbit savvy vet in your area and pop him along to have a full health check done on him.

I do feel for you and your wife. You honestly did a good job with her but sadly the neglect she experienced was obviously too much for her little body to cope with.
