Attaching two different runs together

Okay i have just bought this:

and i already own this:

I would like to join the two together but i was wondering how...i have had a look at runaround, the tubes are a good price but the connectors cost a fortune for what they are...i was wondering if anyone else had any ideas on how i can safely join them together.

I have seen people attach the run around tubes to the runs just by using heavy duty cable ties - if you cut a hole in the wire.

How about taking 1 panel out of the wood one, marry it up to the metal one where the door is (you can carfefully remove door by bending the metal bits that are bent round to form the hinges) and use LOADS of heavy duty cable ties to tie them together all round where the meet up?

Is your run on grass, soil or concrete? If it is on a soft surface you could bury a runaround tunnel in the ground leading from one run to another maybe?
