Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

urine burn...

Hi, just noticed when Zoe's lying down she has a little yellow patch on the inside of her leg which I think is a urine stain...

I've tried bathing it out with water but she wouldn't let me for long and it wasn't coming off - how can I clean it off her safely, I don't want it to reach the point where it burns her

Cornflour is meant to be good for urine stains - sprinkle onto it and massage into the fur and then brush it out.
You can also had a little water to make it into a paste, apply it, let it dry then brush it out.

I don't have this problem, but sometimes when they pee, the urine loop back and soak their fur underneath their rear leg. I just use a small amt. of warm water in the bath tub, hold my rabbit, and soak her leg on it. And rub the fur area that was soaked w/ urine.

I then dry the fur w/ towel.

Well, after some trial and error, moving things around etc she finally seems to be litter trained at last! (well, she's only used the same spot for the last few days so fingers crossed), now that she's not soiling everywhere the stains seem to be fading by themselves, I tried the cornflour thing but she won't let me touch her legs or feet so it didn't really work, in fact she tucked her legs under her body when she knew what I was doing.

I checked today and the stains are looking much lighter already.
