The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Getting rid of urine stains

Since there has been much talk of rabbit pee... eww by the way!

Just wondered if anyone knows what is good for removing the stains from carpets n upholstery once dried, as if we dont find it before hand it leaves a whitish stain that i cant get rid of, anyone got the know how? :thumb:

carpet - I always use 2001 carpet cleaner, scrape it up first and then use the 2001, but don't let the buns go near it untils its fully dried and vacuumed after wards - just to be on the safe side. I've used 2001 on the sofa too - I thnk there may be a special upholstery one though. And then frebreeze to stop them weeing on it again. Again - I air it well before the buns go near it.

laminate flooring - hang on, I'll go look what they're called.......flash antibacteria wipes, and a little plastic scrubbing thing if its 'glued' on!

carpet power and vanish are also good on carpets! I cant stand the smell of vinegar! If its really bad I spray it on let it soak in for a few mins then rub it off with a damp cloth! :D

I use Dettol Surface Cleanser. Its bizzare but it really does work on my sofa. Everything else has to go straight into the washing machine. White vinegar is great for those hard stains

After Tamsin's tip - I bought some foaming upholstery cleaner spray - the vanish one I bought isn't 100% effective and may need a couple of applications but did work very well on my futon where Cosmos had his little accident and even got a stain off that I made over a year ago! I also found it works quite well on blood and red wine on beige dining chairs too - had a little accident while watching a horror movie  !

On laminate I use a bit of lemon flash and a very well rung out mop or cloth if the accident is large, on smaller "sprays" I use an anti-bac kitchen worktop cleaner spray.
