  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Advice please - eye drops

Hi guys

So Bluebell has a case of conjunctivitis.

We've been given some drops and in my haste / stress I forgot to ask how to apply them! 🤦🏻*♀️ dumb moment or what!

Stupid question but how do I... put them in? At the top of her eye under the lid?

Thanks in advance!

It always seems that the drops go onto the eyeball as it is not always possible to get them under the eyelid, depends on the bunny. Good luck and hope bunny is soon better.

Hope you are managing ok with the drops. I can't offer any advice as never administered them

Thanks everyone!

She's taking them really well bless her. Just letting me put them in. It sort of sticks to the middle of her eye but once she blinks it spreads around and under the lids.

Fingers crossed they work.

Shes been such a little trooper  I just hate it when they're sick. They're such innocent little beings they dont deserve to get ill :(

Appreciate everyone's comments, it's good to have support at times like this!
