Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
Thank you zoobec but Millie has never had one of those crunchies. I need to find what's triggering it in her diet?Oh No, sending lots of vibes for her. I know a lot of people found that cutting out fenugreek crunchies from the diet seemed to help.
Do you think over eating tonibun? All those foods seem ok - is it quantity which is the problem?
How do you manage?!Elijah has just had his thirty-something admission for stasis, I feel your frustration. There may be nothing wrong with Millie's diet but something in her make up. I hope she recovers quickly.
I have a brand new bag of plaintan to introduce here! Will be interesting to try. It does say on the packet aids digestionHere's some more vibes for Millie..
I used to have stasis problems with my two when they were on excel. I also reduced the amount of pellets they get.
Now I watch Archie around moulting time, he normally starts chewing the furniture, it's like he's telling me he's a bit off colour. I then give them plantain, its really good for convincing him to eat something. Perhaps it soothes their tums? This normal gets him back to normal.
I found when they had more pellets they always looked too full after eating them! A bit like when we eat a big roast dinner...
Maybe Millie was moulting and it put extra stress on her.
